Hi just wanted to say Hello!
My ancestor - John Hawks - left Hingham with Winthrops' fleet in 1632 (I think). Today, 375 years later, I live at Hingham Farm in Maryland, USA. I have visited and love my "home" village.
Best to everyone,
John

Dear Helen, I'm on the committee of the Hingham society and will contact the parish archivist to find an answer to your query. Watch this space - for later in October.

I was born in Hingham, and still visit the place regularly to see my Nan. It's not changed a great deal in 40 years, lol. But I still like going there!

My Family left Hingham in 1638 with Edward Gilman and I am from his son John. I know that many Gilmans' have returned for visits over the years, starting as early as the mid 1800's. I am now planning a visit of my own and am very excited. Thanks to this website I found Lonsdale's book "The Heyday of Their Strength" .

The Hingham rebels would have been members of the Kett Rebellion. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Kett

I'll try and find more info on who was actually in the Hingham rebels.

Hi Helen. I would try the Hingham Society for this. I will add their contact details to this site and update the guestbook too when this is ready. Thanks.

I am trying to find out who were the Hingham rebels of 1549. I wonder if any body has seen any documents about this?
